Volunteer at Westerly Hospital

Volunteers are essential for creating Westerly Hospital’s helpful and welcoming atmosphere. When you join our team, you have ample opportunity to make a real difference in people’s lives. Volunteers assist in many ways and places, including providing pet and music therapy, supporting the clinical units, and even knitting comfort blankets for our patients.

We are always thrilled to welcome new volunteers, so please proceed to the digital application if you are interested. In addition to your application, all volunteer candidates must have a criminal background check, be medically cleared by our Employee Health Department, and review our Volunteer Orientation. Due to the time associated with onboarding volunteers, we ask that volunteers commit at least 40 hours of service to the hospital.

We also welcome junior volunteers (under 18 years of age) who will need a guardian’s signature in lieu of a background check. Junior volunteers are at least 15 years old and in good academic standing at school. Please fill out our digital application to apply.

Clinical Observation Program

Westerly Hospital is proud to facilitate clinical observations. This program allows interested individuals to observe a clinical area of interest. This is ideal if you are looking to make a decision about a potential clinical career.
