Nine-year old boy donates video game system to Emergency Department

Luke Barrs, 3rd grader at Cohanze Elementary School in Waterford, CT, recently donated his Nintendo GameCube video game system along with video games to The Westerly Hospital’s Emergency Department.  A large screen TV was also donated by Luke’s grandmother, Sheila Barrs.   Luke’s mother, Marianne Barrs is a Nurse in the Hospital’s ED.

Said Luke of the motivation behind his donation: “Kids have nothing to do in the ED while they are sick, and now they will have something fun to do.”

Luke received a Nintendo® Wii recently and wanted to put his former game system to good use.
