What is the Cardiac Rehabilitation Program?
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a 12 week medically supervised exercise and education program. It is designed to restore the cardiac patient to optimal well-being.
Who Is Eligible?
If you've had any of the following, you may qualify for participation:
- Recent coronary angioplasty (PTCA)
- Recent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)
- Recent myocardial infarction (MI - heart attack)
- Stable angina
How Do I Enter the Program?
Cardiac Rehabilitation is a physician referred program and is covered by most insurances. Contact your insurance company about your eligibility.
Prior to joining you will be asked to perform an exercise treadmill test, in order to establish an individualized exercise prescription. Other tests may be required to help you meet your goals. Our office assistant will then begin gathering your medical history before an initial assessment with our Program Director.

A cardiologist and qualified staff are on-site during all classes.
What Can I Expect?
We provide a safe, effective and progressive program while encouraging self-regulation and increased independence. We also offer state of the art telemetry monitoring.
Cardiovascular exercise and resistance training are included in the program. The equipment consists of treadmills, bicycles, arm ergo meters, recumbent bicycles and free weights.
What is the Education Component?
We strive to meet all education needs, providing a patient education booklet, videos, overheads, professional speakers and handouts. Patients are encouraged to include their loved ones to attend our education sessions.

How Will I Benefit?
To gain expected benefits you must give priority to regular attendance 3 days per week, for 12 weeks of both the exercise and education pieces. Classes are held on Monday, Wednesday and Fridays.

What is the Cardiac Maintenance Program?
Secondary prevention is a medically supervised program of exercise and risk factor education. The program is not covered by insurance. The number of patients will be limited to assure equipment availability.
