Counseling at The Westerly Hospital
The Westerly Hospital offers individual medical nutrition
therapy (MNT), provided by Registered Dietitians, for a variety of
diseases, states and intolerances, such as diabetes, renal disease, and
weight management. Our Registered Dietitians hold degrees in
science, with emphasis on dietetics and nutrition. Some of the
Registered Dieticians also hold additional certification in
diabetes.
Medicare covers medical nutritional therapy (MNT) for
diabetes and non-dialysis kidney disease. Many private health plans
also cover MNT. Please contact your insurance if you have questions
about your coverage. A complete Outpatient MNT referral form is required
for appointments.
