The Westerly Hospital, in association with Yale New Haven Heart Center and seven local, Board Certified cardiologists, offers an array of cardiac services. These services can take a patient from the initial stages of diagnosis to treatment and rehabilitation without the stress of seeking care far from home and the support of family and

friends.

Cardiac Services at The Westerly Hospital include:

 

  • Diagnostic cardiac catheterization - in conjunction with the Yale-New Haven Heart Center
  • Nuuclear medicine diagnostic testing
  • EKG and Holter monitoring
  • Stress testing
  • Inpatient medical care
  • Pulmonary rehabilitation
  • Anticoagulation clinic
  • Cardiac rehabilitation
  • Outpatient nutrition counseling

 

Should a patient require more advanced procedures, our long-standing affiliations with Yale-New Haven Heart Center and Miriam Hospital in Providence provide a seamless transition to the outstanding cardiac programs at these facilities.

 

Cardiac Rehabilitation

 

Our 12-week, medically supervised Cardiac Rehabilitation program includes exercise and education, and is designed to restore the cardiac patient to optimal well-being. This program is covered by most insurances. If you've had any of the following, you may qualify for participation following a referral from your physician:

 

• Recent coronary angioplasty (PTCA)

• Recent coronary artery bypass graft (CABG)

• Recent myocardial infarction (MI - heart attack)

• Stable angina
