YNHHS launches “oz-some” tool for home healthcare providers

On Oct. 23, YNHHS launched a module that allows home healthcare providers to electronically document care they provide in patients’ homes and later upload that information to each patient’s Epic electronic health record.

More than 90 people tuned into a virtual launch of the module, called EpicCare Home Health, or “Dorothy” (named for the main character in The Wizard of Oz). Explaining Dorothy’s benefits were Thomas Balcezak, MD, chief clinical officer, and Kathleen O’Leary, RN, vice president, Post-Acute Care Services. Joining them via Zoom were Ian Schwartz, MD, senior vice president and chief clinical operations officer; Lisa Edwards, vice president and chief applications officer, Information Technology Services; Mary Lenzini, RN, president and CEO, Visiting Nurse Association of Southeastern Connecticut; and Gail Haesche, RN, director, Home Care Plus.
