In recognition of a generous philanthropic gift from the Elizabeth M. Pfriem Foundation, Bridgeport Hospital hosted a ribbon-cutting to celebrate its new advanced biplane neuro-angiography imaging system. The biplane supports varied treatments, such as thrombectomy for ischemic stroke, as well as interventional radiology treatments.
The biplane lab – housed in the newly named Elizabeth M. Pfriem Neurovascular and Interventional Radiology Center – is part of the Heart and Vascular Center and is one phase in a larger four-year, $40 million project to enhance neuro- and interventional cardiac services at the hospital.
