New associate chief nursing officer joins Westerly Hospital

WESTERLY, RI (July 2, 2018) – William Filippone, RN, BSN, MBA, has joined Westerly Hospital as Associate Chief Nursing Officer.

Filippone will be responsible for the oversight of patient care services, reporting to Kerin Da Cruz, vice president of operations.

“Bill will continue our focus on building a collaborative nursing culture and ensuring enhancements of our clinical services and physician partnerships,” said Da Cruz. “He brings an expertise to drive exceptional quality and patient outcomes throughout the organization.”

Filippone has more than 20 years of experience in numerous healthcare settings. Most recently, he served as senior director of Patient Care Services at St. Elizabeth’s Medical Center in Boston. He holds an MBA from the University of Texas, a B.S. in Nursing from Georgetown University and a B.A. in Psychology from the University of Rhode Island.

“I’m a native Rhode Islander, so I’m excited to be back in the area,” Filippone said. “I’m really looking to becoming active in the community and contributing to the great work happening at Westerly Hospital.”
