Westerly Hospital Announces Summer Wednesday Wellness Series

WESTERLY, RI (July 2, 2018) – The next Wednesday Wellness Series at Westerly Hospital kicks off July 11 and will include four different presentations by members of the hospital medical staff.

All programs run from 5 to 6:30 pm and will be held at the hospital in the Henry J. Nardone Conference Center. Each session is free, though seating is limited. To reserve a seat for one or more of the following sessions, call 1-800-636-2824 or visit westerlyhospital.org.

The sessions in this program are:

July 11 – Keeping Your Skin Healthy (5 – 6:30 pm)
Dr. Tara Whelan, Dermatology
As summer gets underway, learn more about how the sun affects your skin and the diagnosis and treatment for common skin conditions.

July 25 – Common Digestive Disorders and the Food We Eat (5 – 6:30 pm)
Dr. Steven Yolen, Gastroenterology and Laryl Riley, RNP
Learn more about how what we eat may relate to a number of gastro-intestinal disorders like celiac disease or acid reflux.

August 8 – Hazy, Hot and Staying Healthy (5 – 6:30 pm)
Dr. Brandon Luk, Primary Care
Learn more about summertime health concerns such as dehydration, tick and insects bites, bee stings, heat exhaustion, food poisoning, allergies, sunburns and sleep issues.

August 22 – Heart Health (5 – 6:30 pm)
Dr. Brian Cambi, Interventional Cardiology
Learn more about heart disease risk factors and heart attack treatment options.
