Westerly Hospital hosts First Responders Day

WESTERLY, RI, May 8, 2018 – The community is invited to Westerly Hospital Saturday, May 19, to celebrate First Responders Day. The event, which will run from 10 am to 2 pm, will take place rain or shine.

Kids of all ages can get up close with vehicles from and meet members of the Westerly Police Department; the Westerly, Dunns Corner, Watch Hill and Pawcatuck fire departments; and members of ambulance corps from Westerly, Ashaway, Hope Valley, Charlestown, Stonington, North Stonington, Mystic River and L+M Paramedics. Other vehicles and crews might also be on hand.

The SkyHealth helicopter and crew from Yale New Haven Health will be available until noon and will be located at the helipad area in the back of the Morgan Medical Building on 45 Wells Street.

Free food and giveaways will be available, as well as blood pressure checks by the Westerly Hospital Emergency Department staff, car seat safety checks by the Westerly Police Department and a free Friends and Family American Heart Association CPR training by L+M Education Center staff from 11 am – 1 pm. Pre-registration is required for the CPR training. To pre-register, call 860-442-0711, extension 2493.
