Matthew Lawrence, DPM

Dr. Matthew W. Lawrence is a Connecticut native, growing up in nearby Waterford. He is the son of 2 local podiatrists who have served the community for a combined 70 years. He attended college in Virginia, Podiatric medical school at Temple University in Philadelphia, and completed a rigorous 3 year surgical residency in Rhode Island at a Brown University affiliated program which specialized both conservatively and surgically treating all aspects of foot and ankle pathology. His special interest include foot and ankle fractures, total ankle replacements (TAR), Charcot reconstruction, foot and ankle deformities, arthroscopy, bunions, and many other foot and ankle problems. He is certified in multiple total ankle replacement implant systems. Completing over 1500 surgeries in residency, Dr. Lawrence is well rehearsed in both simple and the most complex foot and ankle surgeries. Fortunately, the majority of his patients are able to recover without major surgery due to the vast conservative options and minor procedures that are readily available. When not working, Matthew spends his time outdoors, cooking and reading.
