Sponsorship Requests

Westerly Hospital is committed to the communities we serve in greater Westerly region and programming that directly affects the social drivers of health by enhancing peoples’ lives and by providing financial assistance to local organizations that share our organizational values. The hospital sponsors, develops and participates in a wide variety of community-based programs and services. 

  • Please review these guidelines, to ensure the request aligns with L+M Hospital’s mission, vision and values and meets at least one of the qualifying criteria including:
    • Address social drivers of health
    • Support issues concerning education, housing and youth
    • Support functions related to addressing opportunities identified by and operationalized in the Community Health Improvement Plan (i.e. Community Health and Wellbeing, Access to Care, Behavioral Health and Healthy Living)
    • Enhance the wellbeing of our communities
  • Efforts should benefit the residents of greater Westerly region
  • Certification of 501 (c) (3) tax status under the IRS Code/W-9 Forms/Physician Owner Verification documents as appropriate
  • Limit donations to one event per organization per fiscal year.  Additional donations are subject to approval by Community Relations.
  • Funds are not to be:
    • used for employee participation in individual sporting or fundraising events such as charity bike rides, etc.
    • used to support direct capital campaigns.
    • donated to umbrella grant-making organizations, e.g. those raising funds to support one or more other organizations (e.g., local Rotary clubs).
    • donated to support operating expenses.
  • Individual employee requests for support for their local schools, athletic teams, religious organizations, or individual fundraising efforts (e.g., sponsoring their charitable bike ride) are discouraged, but may be permissible subject to Community Relations review and approval.

Please allow at least one month lead time for request consideration. Requests are accepted throughout the year and will be responded to in writing electronically.
